USPS Proposes Temporary Price Adjustment for April, 2026
Update: On April 26th, 2025, the PCR approved the proposed price changes and the new rates will take effect on April 26th, 2026.
On March 25, 2026, the USPS filed notice with the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) for a time-limited price change to better align its costs of transportation with the current market. If approved by the PRC, these changes are scheduled to take effect on April 26th, 2026, and remain in effect until January 17th, 2027.
These proposed price changes will raise the cost of the following products by 8% for both retail and commercial pricing:
- Priority Mail
- Priority Mail Express
- USPS Ground Advantage
- Parcel Select
No other products or services will be affected during this change. International, extra services, and market dominant products such as First-Class mail will remain the same.
