Schools often face challenges in providing equal access to library resources across multiple campuses. In this case study, Broken Arrow Public Schools partnered with SumnerOne and FP Mailing Solutions to implement smart locker technology that gives students consistent, self-service access to books and materials, regardless of location.
The result is a scalable solution that removes access barriers and supports student learning in a more flexible way.

Broken Arrow High School building
The Challenge
A satellite campus within Broken Arrow Public Schools faced a key limitation. Students were unable to visit the main campus library, creating a gap in access to books and educational resources.
To address this, the librarian introduced pop-up libraries. While helpful, this approach required ongoing manual effort and did not provide a consistent or scalable solution. The district needed a better way to ensure students could access materials without relying on physical visits to the main campus.
The Solution
The opportunity began at the Oklahoma Library Association annual convention, where the team was introduced to FP Smart Lockers.
Working closely with FP Mailing Solutions, SumnerOne implemented a locker system designed specifically for the district’s needs. The solution included custom software integration so the lockers could communicate with the district’s student online education platform and fit seamlessly into existing workflows.
This was a new approach for the district, designed specifically to remove access barriers and improve resource distribution.
The Results
The smart locker system has been in operation since December and is already showing increased usage. Library materials are being delivered to the lockers multiple times each month, giving students consistent and reliable access to books.
What was once a manual and time-intensive process is now a streamlined system that supports both students and staff while expanding access to educational resources.
