On September 4, 2020, the PRC (Postal Regulatory Commission) approved the temporary rate increase submitted on August 14, 2020, for USPS® Commercial Parcels effective October 18, 2020 – December 27, 2020. This temporary rate increase will affect Commercial Base and Commercial Plus pricing.
Affected commercial domestic “competitive price category” parcels:
This time-limited price increase will not impact retail, metered mail or international rates.
*Some rate cells will be charge less than $0.40 so as not to exceed USPS® Retail Ground retail prices
A full list of commercial pricing can be found on the Postal Service’s Postal Explorer website: www.usps.com/business/prices.htm
The USPS® is one of the largest shippers globally, with 6.2 billion packages shipped last year and was rated one of the most essential companies during the COVID-19 pandemic height. The USPS® Board of Governors believes that the temporary price increase will still provide shippers with competitive pricing while providing the agency with much-needed revenue.
Regular pricing will resume after December 27, 2020.
