On April 6, 2022, the USPS filed notice with the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) of price changes to take effect on July 10, 2022. This filing includes a two-cent increase in the price of First-Class Mail Forever stamp, changing it from 58 cents to 60 cents. Additionally, if approved, the metered 1-ounce letter will increase four-cents from 53 cents to 57 cents. As stated by the USPS, these price adjustments will help with the implementation of the Delivering for America plan.
The USPS is also exploring price adjustments for Special Services products including Certified Mail, Post Office Box rental fees, Money Order fees and the costs associated with purchasing insurance when mailing an item.
