Enabling Decimal Mode

This allows the PostBase to post the new 3-decimal $0.485 meter rate.

1. Press MENU on PostBase HOME SCREEN.

2. Scroll left or right to get to Decimal Meter Mode and press that button.

3. Select $0.000 and press SAVE.

00130000 Teleporto Necessary You must run Teleset at least every 90 days. Load zero dollars at that time if you don’t wish to download postage.
0031000D Ink empty Replace both ink cartridges.
00140001 Connectivity error Check that network cable is working and connected properly.Tap Manage Connection menu. Verify that network information was entered correctly.Check if a network firewall is blocking transmissions (talk with your network administrator).
0D02000F Connection failed Check that network cable is working and connected properly.Tap Manage Connection menu. Verify that network information was entered correctly.Check if a network firewall is blocking transmissions (talk with your network administrator).
000A000D Letter feed error Check the base unit for envelope or label jam:Power off.Remove drawer and inspect for jam.If no jam, use canned air to clean off the entire letter feed path and sensors.
0D020001 Failure in communication with data center This usually means that your account has insufficient funds. Replenish your postage account by logging into the FP customer portal.
000F0000 or 0002 Cp error not available Remove ink cartridges.Clean all contacts in each cartridge.Re-insert cartridges.If error persist, perform a zero-dollar download and call FP to check your “piece count”.
Main battery almost empty Check the main battery on the bottom of the base unit:Turn off unit.Unplug from power.Remove main battery.Check that the battery is inserted correctly (“+” to “+”).Replace the battery with a 3.6V lithium battery if necessary.

Do not use standard AA (1.9V) batteries in your PostBase. Although they look the same as the PostBase battery, they may damage your machine.

Disclaimer: The following information does not apply to PostBase Mini customers. If you are a PostBase Mini customer, or you do not use the PostBase Manual Postage feature, please disregard the following message.

FP has identified an issue with the latest rate change download that affects the use of the Manual Postage feature on your PostBase machine. To use the Manual Postage feature, PostBase customers will need to re-download the rate change update via Remote Service.

How to Update Rates (written instructions)

Update your PostBase rates using an Ethernet connection.

Update your PostBase rates using Remote Service.

“The connection test failed” error

postbase-connect-test-failed-errorThe network and computer system that serves PostBase may become overloaded during rate change, resulting in a “connection test failed” error and an error code similar to 0D020006.

The error means that the PostBase “tested” the network and was unable to complete the connection to FP servers.

If this happens, do NOT attempt to download postage again. Your meter will temporarily be prevented from downloading. Contact Customer Service at 800-341-6052.

When to Update Your Rates

When FP makes the rate update available to customers, you may update your rates, even if it’s prior to the USPS effective date. Rates are stored in your machine and automatically activate on the effective date.

MailOne 2.0 Software

If you use MailOne 2.0 software with your PostBase, you must update your postal rates via the software in addition to the PostBase machine. (MailOne will not run unless both the machine and software have updated to the same rate tables.)

Verify the Update

If your rate update was successful, your equipment will activate the new rates on the effective date. You can verify that the update was successful by checking your equipment’s rate table version number on or after the effective date.

Note: There is no confirmation screen screen prompt stating that the rate table has been downloaded.

Memories & Shortcuts

After the effective date of the new postage rates, you may need to manually update any programmed memories to the new rates. The memories will not automatically update.
