History of FP

A Brief History
• In the 1920s, Francotyp and Postalia were founded as separate postage meter
companies in Germany.
• In the early 1960s, the United States Postal Service allowed Postalia to market
its postage meters in the United States.
• In 1989, after many successful years as independent organizations, Francotype
and Postalia became sister companies as they were acquired by the Rochling
Group, one of Germany's 50 largest industrial enterprises.
• In 1993, the two companies merged and became Francotyp-Postalia. The merger
strengthened the development of new technologies that would solve customer
mailing problems by providing total business solutions.
• In 2000, Francotyp-Postalia repositions itself as FP Mailing Solutions in the U. S.
• Throughout the first decade of the 21st century, FP launches several new
mailing products, including the optimail™ 30, ultimail™, centormail™,
and mailone™.
